Vibhav’s wedding!
Can’t wait for Joi Ito’s reporting from this bizarre wedding with 18,000 participants and a chartered jet for the special guests.
The real world is just so much more interesting than entertainment and the simplified stories of the current media system!
And speaking of bizarre - one day i’ll get my act together and tell you about my bizarre but interesting experiences onboard Charles Simonyi’s mega-yacht “Skat”

Mblogs:
Blogging+Mobile Camera’s+Always on wireless=the future of communication/storytelling!

I deeply believe that the next killer-app for communication and storytelling is on it’s way. Combining the concept of weblogs, the surge in small mobile camera’s integrated into mobile phones and the always on data connections that the new phones makes possible. Taking blogging out of the context of your fixed physical enviroment and the text-only format that the current tools fosters.
The most powerful media system to be made available to mankind ever - and available at a very low cost in the future. Instant realtime communication with text and pictures anytime and anywhere. How will it change us as individuals, organizations and society when we can document and annotate our lifes, stories, happenings, events, daily life, business life, etc. instantly?
I’ve been bullish on this one a long time - even going so far as to developing parts of the concept as a sms-based blogging service “mblog” with hartvig some years ago. (We prototyped the service concept, user interface, shortcuts, etc. but in the end sms was too limited to make the user experience work in our opinion).
But now it’s all starting to happen. With the availability of the Danger Hiptop and the initiative of independent site Hiptop Nation you can see the future right know!
And yes it’s crappy, the resolution of the pictures isn’t very good, etc. But - Imagine!
PS. One of the mobile blogs that shows the way you can communicate is may (even featuring a picture of howard rheingold ;)
PSS. Some Hiptop Nation posts that captures the spirit of the format: I don’t do windows…, New Thunderbird, hooters!, My trip in a Mini and A storybook wedding wrapped in indian summer.
PSSS. For europeans Nokia has some interesting products like the vga-quality Camera Headset and the messaging optimized phone Nokia 6800. But don’t get your hopes too high - the oldschool european telcos will definately mess up the potential with 1 euro charges per mms message and gprs billing by the byte!
PSSSS. It’s all about capturing those special moments. Like a couple of weeks ago when i was riding the s-train in copenhagen on a saturday afternoon and saw this beautiful woman with her small child in total joy and harmony. Singing, playing and just plain holding this little kid. She broadcasted happiness to the rest of us so strongly that i had to send a smile back to appreciate her joy. If i just had a picture and blog post about that written while the experience still was in my body!
