Suddenly got a new found respect for danish politicians
After an exhausting week long away from home, there’s nothing better than entering your home and finding a letter from the danish military, relieving your from the military service that’s been over your head for seven years!
The military service that i’ve had postponed for 3-4 times, got down to three months of service, tried all sorts of tricks to get out off, etc. had been terminated. Apparently most of the political parties in denmark has agreed on a new emergency plan that will end the three month type military service. The letter politely stated an offer for me to apply for six months of military service instead! - but also noted that if i didn’t do anything i would be put in the reserves and only be drafted if a crisis or war occurs. I’m not applying - instead i’m extremely grateful to whoever up there who’s looking out for me…
Manna from Nanna!
Spent a lovely friday night in Copenhagen with Nanna - who seems as if she’s becoming a more beautiful, balanced and interesting person for every day that goes by.
Lot’s of talk on a very deep level, reflections on relationships, living and the times we’re living in - openminded mindfucking discussions that only really good friends can have.
Stay cool girl - and pleeeease give us all some more “manna” on your weblog - just start with all the interesting books you read
flavorpill - nice example of a weekly email cityguide format.
dsandler.org - interesting entry format on this blog by an interface designer from Be/Palm.
What people can get one to say!
“I’ve been an elite sportsman in more than 22 sports disciplines” - a vivid weird discussion over lunch gone wild…
Earth ‘will expire by 2050′ - Our planet is running out of room and resources. Modern man has plundered so much, a damning report claims this week, that outer space will have to be colonised
Life certainly isn’t boring - neither is it easy!
Let’s see what this week will bring of love, big thoughts, regrets, uncertainty, clarity, friendships, hello/goodbye’s and fun…
Scott Kirsner: Silence is a virtue - Tech start-ups of the late ’90s couldn’t make enough noise about how wonderful their technology was. Now they can’t stay quiet enough. “You want to build a company quietly and in a focused manner. That way, when customers start buying technology again, you’re there, and you’re there without six other copycats along with you.”
