Ohh, by the way…

Ohh, by the way…
I’m one of the founders of Metrostar* - the first danish wireless internet service provider. Still very much in the early phase - currently looking for a management team - please mail me for persons that might be interested.
And also one of founders of OpenEther - the danish interest group for open spectrum standards-based mobile communication.
It all truly resembles the isp industry in 1994/1995 - and has the potential too be as big or larger - and for the first time in mobile communication, it’s the people who are building the future as an open platform from the bottom up - instead of top-down proprietary closed-spectrum monopoly-oriented bigco telco’s that thinks the future of mobile communication is a broadcast model of having people paying for ringtones!
Community networks, wireless isp’s, personal wireless networks, corporate wireless networks - it’s all happening…

What a week…

What a week…
The list of all the stuff that has happened this week is too long to list here - i ought to be very tired, but i’m full of energy. I’m really getting into the joy of working - a positive feedback loop where the more work you do, the more energy you get. If you can call what i do “work” - it’s more like “lifestyle” or “pleasure”.
I guess the reason is being a part of a great team of people at aarstiderne at the moment - a reinstatement to my inner brain, that i’m a much better person when i’m a part of a team - a fact that i ought to remember better…
Personal update:
At the request of certain people, who cannot get themselves to ask, here’s the personal update.
Worklife future: Still undecided whether i wanna professionalize the one-man consulting thing, start the km/collaboration/groupware startup that i’ve been doing product development on for three years, take half a year off to travel or whether i should buy the 5000 square feet building in the countryside 25 meters from the sea and start the thinktank/workcamp that a certain person once upon a time urged me to do. Who knows - it might even be a combination of the above…
Plans: Lot’s of travelling the next 9 months.
Home: Have decided to rent out my copenhagen loft apartment - to feel truly free and push myself to the next thing - hoping that my littlebrother and his friends will treat it well…
Lovelife: Single, but having a great time…
Life in general: Extremely happy.
Good enough, CottaD? ;)

Sunday Evening

Monday, June 17th, 2002

What not to do on a sunday evening
Had a wonderful casual sunday evening with Mads and Maria, Louise and Benjamin ending up in a game of Trivial Pursuit, which i hadn’t played for ages. Lot’s of competitive spirit, amazing competences and good laughs. Got home way too late, since i’m catching an early train to head for a week at Aarstiderne.

Malcolm Gladwell: blowing up - How Nassim Taleb turned the inevitability of disaster into an investment strategy

Malcolm Gladwell: blowing up - How Nassim Taleb turned the inevitability of disaster into an investment strategy. For ten minutes this article had me wanting to become a trader with a “chaos fund” allthough i don’t get much of the mathematics involved. Like his chaos theory oriented strategies for investing… (And great writing from Gladwell as always).

Meetup

Scott Heifermann’s new startup MEETUP has just launched. Interesting concept - if only they would make it more viral by making it easier to create local meeting venues. User Interface and Communication Design by the always great 37Signals.
