Weblog Consulting Industry?

Had a late night conversation on weblogs in which a weird issue came up!

Will a “Weblog Consulting/Solutions Industry” emerge similar to the now almost dead internet consulting industry?

A possible future:

“RazorBlog is a global weblog solutions provider that helps leading organizations generate competitive value by leveraging the power of weblogs.
- internet & intranet blogs
- blog strategy, design & technology
- blog hosting

Forrester is predicting the global weblog consulting market to be 2.2 billion $ in 2005.

Goldman Sachs has just issued a report on the weblog market including profiles of key players in consulting and software. The report estimates that 5-6 companies will go public with the next 24 months.”

;_)

Well, let’s hope that this industry emerges , but not in the hype proportions of earlier times. It’s also a question whether there’s momentum to build a new industry with new companies or whether existing consultants/solution providers will catch the flow and start offering services in this field to their customers. They ought to - but that could also have been expected of them 5 years ago with internet consulting/services.
