How to win the battle against smart-tags

Wednesday, June 27th, 2001

Simple idea; How to win the battle against smart-tags:
Lobby the Apache group to ship the standard configuration with the necessary code to turn off smart-tags - and have it do it by default. Apache has 50-60 percent of the market!
Anyone with tight connections to some of the core developers?

Closed vs. Open

Monday, June 25th, 2001

A question:
Why do we take for granted that everything should be closed? What if we started taking for granted that everything should be open? Instead of asking: “why should we be open?” started asking: “why should we be closed?”… This goes for software, information, organizations, etc. I’m not suggesting that everything should be open - just that we considered everything to be open as default!

Blog-dinner
Had a cosy “blog-dinner” with Nanna & Guan. Lot’s of interesting thoughts & stories. Hope that Guan has gotten something good out of the whole mondosoft/speednames thing.
Already started saving to get Guan into M.I.T - anyone else who wanna help?

Interview!
Had a very interesting interview/conversation with Henrik Marstal, a journalist/musician/researcher/author from Information, for a series of articles his doing on “man vs. the machine”.
Let’s see if he can manage to get the conversation into the format of an article - it definately won’t be an easy task, but he seemed like a insightful talented guy…
I’m gonna ask him for a copy of the minidisc he recorded during the conversation to write down notes from.
It rocks to be interviewed, when you feel that you’ve learned a lot from the conversation/got things put in a new perspective/pushed your thinking to new levels. If just all interviews/journalists were like that!
